AKAdemy Showcase 2011/Pathfinders Step Show
To expand the awareness of the importance of education, exposure to higher education and traditional and non-traditional opportunities.
To develop social skills, self esteem, cultural pride and an appreciation for living in a culturally diverse society.
To provide meaningful, positive interaction and encourage leadership and self-development.
Projects designed to enhance volunteerism, awareness of the local community and to promote the importance of personal involvement.
To provide a structured program to assist adolescent males and females to enhance their resiliency to challenges and hardships while developing leadership skills using positive mentoring, encouraging educational development, a commitment to school and promoting volunteerism via community service projects.
This program is funded by the Juvenile Welfare Board and the Youth Development Foundation. We have partnered with the Ladies of the Zeta Upsilon Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa AlphaSorority, Inc. to work with the Gems.
There is limited space and students will be accepted on a first come-first serve basis.
